Dave Karleskint - LEED APDave’s interest in Architecture and Construction began very young – around 13. He discovered graph paper and was compelled to draw floorplans. By age 15 or so there really was no question about what to do in life – He wanted to be an Architect who developed Real Estate. At that point, it was simply a question of which route to take.

The path started with a California Real Estate license at age 20. That led to several years of working as a Realtor and Banker while simultaneously continuing his education focusing on Business & Marketing.

At age 24, Dave decided that he had enough of “contracts & paperwork” and decided to join the U.S. Army for a needed change of pace and the opportunity to make money for College, rather than go into debt for his schooling. After 3 years of honorable service to Uncle Sam, working on the Patriot Missile System, Dave returned to Nor-Cal and finished his schooling at Chico State University.

While at Chico State, Dave studied Construction Management with an emphasis on Architecture, learning the BIM method of CAD Drafting. After that, he and his newly found Fiancée moved to the Grass Valley area where Dave began working as a Designer/Drafter for local Architects and Builders. Dave has worked on all types of High End Residential and Medium-Size Commercial Projects – including Historical Preservation jobs in Nevada City. In 2009 Dave earned his LEED AP Certificate, making him an expert in “Green/Sustainable Methods & Materials – he is currently preparing to take his Architect Exam.

As of 2012, Dave and his wife Barbara have lived and worked in the beautiful Nevada/Placer County area for over 10 years. When not at work, Dave enjoys gardening, landscaping and building various things in his home woodshop. (It’s not a garage – It’s a woodshop!) A committed Fly Fisherman, Dave loves that he can get to the Yuba, Bear or American rivers with just a short drive.
